Question:-
What is the reality of Jadu? What is the ruling with regards to learning Jadu? Does one lose his/her Imaan by practicing Jadu? If one’s relative practices Jadu, then what is the ruling with regards to maintaining a relationship with them? Please explain these matters in detail.
Answer:-
Jadu is an act in which assistance is sought from Shaytaan and through words of Shirk. It is Haraam to learn and teach Jadu. It is from amongst the greatest and worst sins to practice Jadu, or to get another person to carry out the act of Jadu on one’s behalf. This is such a terrible wrong that it could lead to Kufr. The income earned through practicing Jadu is Haraam. It is, therefore, not permissible to visit and associate with relatives that engage in Jadu as a profession.
