Question:-
Is it necessary (for a Munfarid) to read Bismillah after Surah Faatiha and before the Surah? If I am reading a portion of a Surah, and not from the beginning of the surah, do I read Bismillah? Ta’awwuz is read only in the first Rakaat before Surah Faatiha. Is this correct?
Answer:-
It is Sunnah to recite Bismillah in every Rakaat before commencing Surah Fateha. Reciting Bismillah between Surah Fateha and a Surah is not a Sunnah, but it is better to recite it.
Re:- Kitaabun Nawaazil Pg. 50/51 Vol.4
The same ruling mentioned above will be applicable if one commences recitation from the middle of a Surah (after Surah Fateha) and not from the beginning. That is, it is better to recite Bismillah, but it is not Sunnah.
Ta’awwuz is only recited at the beginning of Salaah before commencing Surah Fateha. Allah Ta’ala states, “When you recite Quraan, then seek Allah’s protection from the accursed Shaytaan.” [Surah 16, Verse 98]
