QUESTION:
Since moving to the US and finding myself at times in places where I did not know the Masjid or the community; I had to figure out for myself the prayer times, and discovered that there are, 1) differences between Hanafi & other Matha’ib; and 2), a plethora of other Salaah time conventions which do not comport, or coincide with each other. Up until now, I have basically just winged it, and adopted the Hanafi time under the Islamic University in Karachi (18°) convention; but is that the correct option?
ANSWER:
Our Fatwa department recommends Islamic university, Karachi for Salaah times which is in accordance to the Hanafi school of thought.
