Saying ‘Ya Rasulallah’ Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam

Question:-

Is it permissible to say ‘Ya Rasulallah’ (without believing that Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم is present)?

Answer:-

It is recorded in the Kitaabs of Fataawa that one should use the words ‘Ya Rasulallah’ to address Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam when present at the Rowdah-e-Mubarak. If Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is addressed with these words from a distance, then it could create a doubt within the people that the reciter considers Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam to be omnipresent (even though this may not be his intention). They are not aware of the condition of the heart; hence caution should be exercised in this matter. [Re:- Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah Pg.268 Vol.5]
