QUESTION:
I’m trying to read all my Qadha Salaah. What is the shortest verse which we are allowed to read? The shortest verse comprises of how many letters?
ANSWER:
It is mentioned in the Kitaabs of Fiqh that a verse which has 30 letters will suffice for one Rakaat. You may read the following verses:
ثُمَّ نَظَرَ ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ (المدثر آ 21-23)
