Question:-
-
If during the last few minutes before Iftaar, tears unintentionally went down the throat (as in the person could taste saltiness), will the fast be valid?
-
What should a person think about while reciting during Taraweeh in order to enhance concentration?
Answer:-
-
If just one or two drops of tears enter the mouth then the fast will not be nullified. If plenty tears enter the mouth to the extent that one is able to taste the saltiness of the tears and thereafter swallows it, then the fast will be nullified. In your particular instance, the saltiness could be sensed and it was further swallowed, hence, the fast will be nullified. However, only Qadhaa will be required, with the proviso that, you didn’t derive enjoyment when swallowing the tears.

If one has studied and knows the meaning of the Quraan Sharif, then try to concentrate on the meaning of the verses. If one hasn’t studied the translation, then they may concentrate or focus on the Arabic words.
