Strong scent entering the throat whilst fasting

Question:-

While fasting, I made use of the non-stick “Cook and Bake” spray to grease my cooking and baking utensils. I used this spray in close proximity to myself, hence, I unintentionally breathed it in. However, since the spray is strong in nature, after spraying it, I could also feel it in my throat. Please could Mufti Saheb advise whether the use of this spray invalidates one’s fast, and if it does, please could Mufti Saheb advise whether both Qadhaa and Kaffarah are necessary?

Answer:-

If the scent of the spray unintentionally entered the nose and could be felt in the throat, then  your fast will be valid. In future, you should try to use the spray from a distance so that the strong fumes are not inhaled.
