QUESTION:
If a person takes a Nafl share in a cow for Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم and for a specific Marhoom( e.g. their father ) do they have to tell the slaughterer who the animal is for, and must the slaughterer take their names?
ANSWER:
The one who intends performing Qurbani on behalf of the Marhoom should make intention at the time of purchase. It is not necessary for the one slaughtering to take each person’s name.
