Question:-
Is it sinful to not read Taraweeh in Ramadaan? If yes, what is the minimum number of Rakaat that one can read?
Answer:-
It is Sunnat-e-Muakkadah for females to perform twenty Rakaats Taraweeh. If they don’t have the strength to stand and perform Taraweeh Salaah, they may sit and perform the Taraweeh Salaah. If they don’t have the energy to sit and perform Taraweeh Salaah then they may perform according to their ability. [Fataawa Qaasmiyyah Pg.407 Vol.9]
وَالتَّرَاوِيحِ سُنَّةٌ وَسَيَأْتِي أَنَّ الصَّحِيحَ أَنَّهَا فِي التَّرَاوِيحِ سُنَّةٌ عَلَى الْكِفَايَةِ وَنَصَّ فِي جَوَامِعِ الْفِقْهِ عَلَى أَنَّهَا فِيهَا وَاجِبَةٌ وَهُوَ غَرِيبٌ (البحر الرائق ص366 ج1)
