Hadrat Uthmaan Radiallahu Anhu narrates: I heard Rasulullah Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam saying, “Whoever offers the Isha Salaah in congregation is as though he spent half the night in worship. And whoever offers the Fajr Salaah in congregation is as though he spent the entire night in worship.” [Sahih Muslim]

Imaam Abu Dawood Rahimahullah and Imaam Tirmidhi Rahimahullah narrate the above as follows: “Whoever offers the Isha Salaah in congregation is like standing for half the night in worship. And whoever offers the Fajr and Isha Salaah in congregation is like standing the entire night in worship.”

Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “The most difficult Salaah on the hypocrites is the Isha and Fajr Salaah. Had they known the rewards in store for them, they would have attended them even if it meant crawling on their knees. I had decided to order that the call to Salaah be made (Adhaan be called), the people stand up for it, and I then order a person to lead the people in Salaah, while I go together with some men, carrying bundles of firewood to those people who are not attending the Salaah in congregation so that I may burn their houses onto them.” [Sahih Bukhari]

Hadrat Abu Umaamah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Whoever offers the Ishaa Salaah in congregation has indeed taken his share (of reward) from the night of power (Laylatul Qadr).” [Al Haithami]

Hadrat  Abu Umaamah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Whoever performs Wudhu, goes to the Masjid, offers two Rakaats before the Fajr Salaah, remains seated until he offers the Fajr Salaah, then his Salaah for that day is recorded among the Salaah of the pious and he is recorded among the delegation that is going to visit Ar-Rahmaan (Allah Ta’ala, The Most Merciful).” [At-Tabrani]

Hadrat Samurah ibn Jundab Radiallahu Anhu narrates, I heard Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying, “Whoever leaves in the morning for the Fajr Salaah, leaves with the flag of Imaan. And whoever leaves in the morning towards the marketplace (without having performed Fajr) leaves with the flag of Shaytaan.” [Ibn Majah]

Abu Bakr ibn Sulayman ibn Abi Hathmah narrates that Hadrat Umar Radiallahu Anhu found Hadrat Sulayman ibn Hathmah Radiallahu Anhu absent from the Fajr Salaah. Hadrat Umar went towards the market-place. Hadrat Sulayman’s house was between the Masjid and market-place. Hadrat Umar passed by Ash-Shafaa, the mother of Hadrat Sulayman. He asked her, “How is it that I did not see Sulayman for Fajr Salaah?” She replied: “He spent the night in Salaah and sleep overcame him.” Hadrat Umar Radiallahu Anhu replied: “I prefer offering the Fajr Salaah in congregation to spending the entire night in Nafl Salaah.” [Narrated by Imaam Malik Rahimahullah in his Muwatta]
