QUESTION:
I am in my final year of religious studies (Aalimah), and I would like to join a training course to perfect my reading of the Quraan in Madinah Munawwarah. Would it be correct to collect funds to pursue this path?
ANSWER:
There is absolutely no need for you to travel abroad to correct your recitation. You should contact qualified female teachers in your area who are proficient in recitation, and correct your recitation under them. If there isn’t anyone available, then there are many reliable teachers that teach online, hence you may contact one of them and correct your recitation. However, when learning online, the camera should be switched off and only the voice should be transmitted, and both parties should use headphones. In conclusion, it is not correct for you to collect funds to travel abroad for Islamic studies. You should further your studies in your hometown.
