Question:-
Is it permissible to trim the hair of little girls? If yes, then up to what age?
Answer:-
If it is trimmed with the intention of enhancing growth, then there is no problem in doing so. However, it shouldn’t resemble the hairstyle of the disbelievers at any stage. Hadrat Maulana Zafar Ahmad Uthmani Rahimahullah permitted small girls to trim their hair until the age of nine (when there is a necessity as explained above).
However, the hair of little girls is trimmed nowadays to keep up with the current fashions and trends (and not with the intention of enhancing growth) which is obviously not permissible. The proof of this is that the hair is not of equal length, rather it is of different lengths with varying styles.
