Using Hadith To Promote One’s Business

QUESTION:

Is it permissible to post Ahadeeth on the advertisements of the products/items that one is selling?

ANSWER:

The Ahadith are the words, actions and approvals of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. The greatest personality in the world is Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his words, actions and approvals are also extremely valuable. The objective of the words of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is not to promote our businesses, but rather it is to act upon these teachings and thereby acquire the pleasure of Allah and His Rasul Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Yes, if one is selling a Sunnah product and uses the Hadith to educate the masses that to use this product is Sunnah, then there is no harm in doing so.
