Verses recited to awaken for Tahajjud
QUESTION:
Is there any truth to the following post:
“I was told a Quranic Ayah to recite when a person wants to wake up for some purpose, and by Allah it works!! Every time I’ve read it, I’ve ALWAYS woken up, whether it be for Fajr, work, an interview, literally anything I need to wake up for. I recall being told the virtue is that the angels wake you up. Im not sure how accurate it is according to my memory, but I’ve never questioned it as it was told to me by an Aalim. If I am mistaken in some way, please correct me.”
ANSWER:
Someone told Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas Radiallahu Anhu that he has the desire and intention of awakening for Tahajjud Salaah but sleep always overpowers him. Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas Radiallahu Anhu replied that when one retires to bed at night, recite the last two verses of Surah Kahf and Allah Ta’ala will cause one to awaken at the required time.
It is recorded in a narration of Daarami that, Zir ibn Hubaish said to Hazrat Abdah, “When you retire to bed at night, recite the last two verses of Surah Kahf and you will be able to awaken at the time you intend.” Hadrat Abdah narrates that he acted on this prescription on numerous occasions, and it proved to be correct.
