Whitish discharge at the end of Haidh

Question:-

I often have difficulty determining when my Haidh has ended. I would like to know whether the discharge which is like a cream white in color, is considered as part of Haidh or not?

Answer:-

The Kitaabs of Fiqh state that there are six colours of Haidh; black, red, yellow, brown (earth colour), green and a muddy colour.

وهو ما كان من الألوان الستة وهي السواد والحمرة والصفرة والكدرة والخضرة والترية ووقت ثبوته بالبروز وهو إنما يعلم بمجاوزة موضع البكارة وهي بالخروج إلى الفرج الظاهر (حاشية الطحطاوي ص139 ج1)

(وَمِنْهَا) أَنْ يَكُونَ عَلَى لَوْنٍ مِنْ الْأَلْوَانِ السِّتَّةِ: السَّوَادُ وَالْحُمْرَةُ وَالصُّفْرَةُ وَالْكُدْرَةُ وَالْخُضْرَةُ وَالتُّرْبِيَةُ هَكَذَا فِي النِّهَايَةِ وَإِنَّمَا يُعْتَبَرُ اللَّوْنُ عَلَى الْكُرْسُفِ حِينَ يُرْفَعُ وَهُوَ طَرِيٌّ لَا حِينَ يَجِفُّ. هَكَذَا فِي الْمُحِيطِ. (الفتاوي الهندية ص36 ج1)

It is recorded in Jawharatun Nayyira and Durr-e-Mukhtaar that the whiteness witnessed on the sanitary pad at the end of Haidh (sometimes like a white thread), indicates that Haidh has terminated. Since the off-white colour (in your case) is closer in resemblance to white, and not from amongst the colours of Haidh which we have listed above, it is an indication that your Haidh has terminated.

وما تراه المرأة من الحمرة والصفرة والكدرة في أيام الحيض حيض ” حتى ترى البياض خالصا (الهداية ص32 ج1)
