“Wudhu Socks Lite”

QUESTION:

I am writing to ask whether the “Wudhu Socks Lite” are valid to use as Khuffain. The packaging states that they are 100% waterproof, breathable, durable, ultra-thin socks, and that they are intended as an alternative to conventional leather socks/Khuffain. Please advise whether these are a suitable substitute for the Khuffain, and if it is permissible to make Masah on it.

ANSWER:

We have reservations regarding the queried socks as we haven’t personally tested it. The safest option is to wear the leather socks.
