Question:-
Many a Huffaz nowadays have their hair cut in different lengths. Some of these Huffaz would be performing Taraweeh Salaah this year, whilst others are given the opportunity to lead the Fardh Salaah on a regular basis. What is the ruling in regards to the above?
Answer:-
The Imaamat of Huffaz with western hairstyles (which include hair that is cut in different lengths in resemblance with the Kuffar) is Makrooh-e-Tahreemi. If there are other pious and righteous Huffaz and Ulama available in one’s locality, then they should be given preference.

الجواب : ایسے شخص کو امام بنانا مکروہ تحریمی ہے بشرطیکہ اس سے بہتر نماز پڑھانے والا موجود ہو ۔ (فتاوی محمودیہ ص۱۲۸ ج۶)
