Elderly person unable to pay Fidya

Question:-

An old man that is unable to fast, is required to pay the Fidyah. What should be done if he is unable to pay the Fidyah?

Answer:-

If a person is unable fast and thereby qualifies to pay Fidya but doesn’t have the financial means to do so, then he should make Istighfaar. However, he should make an intention to pay the Fidya when Allah Ta’ala grants him the financial ability to do so.

اور جو شخص   روزہ  بھی نہ رکھ  سکتا ہو ، اور اس کے  پاس فدیہ  ادا کرنے کے لئے بھی  کچھ نہ ہو  ، وہ صرف استغفار کرے اور یہ نیت رکھے کہ جب بھی اس کو کنجائش میسر ٓائے گی ، وہ روزوں کا فدیہ ادا کرے   ۔ ٓاپ کے مسائل اور ان کا حل ص۶۰۲ ج۴ 

فإن لم يقدر” من تجوز له الفدية “على الفدية لعسرته يستغفر الله سبحانه ويستقبله” أي يطلب منه العفو عن تقصيره في حقه (حاشية الطحطاوي علي مراقي الفلاح ص688 ج1)
