Question:-
I am forced to travel for work as I do not have any Mahram unfortunately. I am a divorced woman without parents or siblings. My uncle’s have passed on as well. What happens in my situation?
Answer:-
Firstly, we make Dua that Allah Ta’ala makes it easy for you and fulfills all your needs in this world and the hereafter, Ameen!
We understand from your query that you are divorced with no children, parents, paternal or maternal uncles etc. hence, you are forced to travel on your own to work. Looking at your condition, your family members such as your cousins and others should have financially assisted you and thereby covered your day to day expenses, so that you are not forced to leave your home and work.
If this is not an option (because they are unwilling to do so), then you may run a business from your home with the proviso that you interact with females only. You may advertise your products on social media and clearly state that only females should contact you. You shouldn’t accommodate any male clients at all. Also, in advertising your products (on social media) you shouldn’t take or use animate pictures or objects.
If you are a professional such as an accountant or medical practitioner etc. then there is absolutely no problem working from home but, again, with the proviso that you interact with females only.
If this, too, is not an option, then it is the responsibility of the Muslim community to assist individuals like yourself with Zakaat funds and thereby fulfill your needs.
In conclusion, you should turn to Allah Ta’ala and beg Him to guide you in this matter. He is our Sustainer and Provider and has the full ability to grant you an income that is absolutely pure and full of Barakah, without you having to even leave your home. You are simply required to be genuine in your desire to please Him, and place your reliance on Him, and He will provide for you from unimaginable sources, Insha’Allah.
ALLAH TA’ALA KNOWS BEST!
