Wearing coloured lenses

Question:-

Is it permissible to wear coloured contact lenses?

Answer:-

We are permitted to adorn ourselves in Shariah with the proviso that the laws of Shariah are not transgressed in any way whatsoever. Although one will not be changing the natural creation of Allah Ta’ala by wearing coloured lenses, but doing so comprises of various other evils such as wastage of money, imitating the ways of the disbelievers and particularly the women of the street, deception when others are unaware that one is wearing coloured lenses, fear of causing Fitnah with the opposite gender and so forth. It is on this basis that one should refrain from wearing coloured contact lenses, particularly the righteous and pious.
