Discovery Medical Aid scheme

Question:-

Discovery have come out with a “Shariah Compliant” Medical Aid scheme. (https://www.discovery.co.za/medical-aid/dhms-shariah-compliant-arrangement)

Is this permissible?

Answer:-

We are unaware of the modus operandi of the said medical aid scheme, hence making it difficult to comment. However, the Hadith states that we should leave out those things that put one into doubt and opt for that which is doubt-free. Hence, in the above scenario we advise abstention. Most medical aid schemes comprise of both interest and gambling which are Haraam, hence in this case too, we advise abstention.
