Being secretive in a marriage

QUESTION:

My wife has become very secretive. As her husband, is she allowed to keep anything from me?

ANSWER:

In order to enjoy a peaceful, harmonious and stress-free matrimonial relationship, it is necessary for both spouses to be open and truthful to each other in all matters. If any of the spouses become secretive, then this will open the door for entertaining doubts (with regard to their partner) resulting in unnecessary problems and complications. It is, therefore, not correct for the spouses to be secretive in a marriage.
