1. What is the amount of hair that should be cut for a female when coming out of the state of Ihraam?
1. Hair equivalent to the fingertip should be trimmed or cut (for females) to come out of Ihraam. [Muallimul Hujjaj Pg. 116]
2. If a female uses the Ihram Purdah which has a cap and a piece hanging (to prevent it from touching the face), and if she performs Salaah, and the piece touches her face in Sajdah, what will the ruling be?
2. If the face is covered for less than a day, or less than a night (which is 12 hours), then the amount of Sadaqatul Fitr should be discharged. The Niqaab will touch the face when performing Salaah in the Haram which is generally less than a day, or less than a night, hence Sadaqatul Fitr will suffice. [Muallimul Hujjaj Pg. 243] However, it is best for females to perform their Salaah at home and not in the Haram.
3. Which Kitaab/s are recommended to read and study before performing Umrah?
3. You may study the Kitaab ‘Hajj and Umrah’ or ‘Hajj and Umrah at a glance’ by Mufti Elias which is easy to understand.
4. What are the limits of the husband-wife relationship in the state of Ihraam, and what necessitates Damm?
4. It is best that spouses refrain from each other totally during Ihraam particularly if there is a fear of being overpowered by lust. If a person kissed his wife (with lust and desire) during Ihraam, or they cuddled each other, or the private parts of both spouses touched (without penetration), then Damm will become obligatory in all these cases. [Muallimul Hujjaj Pg. 247]
وعن عليٍّ – رضي اللَّه تعالى عنه – قال: إذا قبل المحرم امرأته فعليه دم. (مصنف ابن ابي شيبة)
