Question:-
I had an erection and a little bit of fluid came out which i suppose was Madhi. The erection subsided. After about 20 minutes, i went to relieve myself and after urinating a thick fluid came out. I asked someone if i need to make Ghusl and they told me no. Later in the day i was made to lead Salaah in an area which i am not from ( i was passing through the area and I’ve never been there before and neither do i know anyone from there). After a few days, the person who told me that i don’t need to make Ghusl said, that i was required to make Ghusl. What is the ruling, and what should i do regarding the Salaah that I lead as I have no contact with anyone in the area and its been almost 1 week.
Answer:-
It is recorded in Binaayah, the commentary of Hidaayah that ‘Mani’ refers to the water that gushes forth and emerges with desire. It is from this liquid that one conceives a child, and it necessitates Ghusl. ‘Madhi’ refers to the water that emerges when a man engages in foreplay with his wife (or engages in lustful glances and thoughts). He is required to wash the private part and renew his Wudhu in this instance. The third category is referred to as ‘Wadi’ which emerges with the urine and after the urine. In this instance, one is required to wash the private parts and make Wudhu.
In the queried scenario, it seems that the liquid that emerged when relieving yourself could be ‘Wadi’ since it emerged with the urine, or it could be the remains of the ‘Madhi’ that was remaining in the private part. In this instance, your Imaamat was valid as Ghusl was not required. You never experienced ejaculation with force that emerged with desire which necessitated Ghusl. In conclusion, your Imaamat was valid if you made a fresh Wudhu after Istinja and then led the congregation.
