Performing Hajj and Umrah

QUESTION:

What is the ruling regarding spending on Umrah and Hajj considering the war in Gaza?

ANSWER:

Whilst it is permissible to go for Nafl Umrah and Hajj, due to the dire straits of the people of Palestine, it will be very meritorious to donate one’s money to them. However, if Hajj is Fardh upon an individual i.e. he has the means to undertake this noble journey, and he has been accredited, then it will be necessary to fulfill this Fardh obligation.

One should continue making Dua for the people of Palestine. May Allah Ta’ala make it easy for them and assist them with His unseen help. Aameen!
