Performing Salaah on a painted concrete floor

Question:-

Is it permissible to perform Salaah on a painted, concrete floor? While making my way through an apartment/office complex, I had a spontaneous urge to offer 2 Rakaats of Salaah in gratitude for the multifarious blessings of life which Allah Ta’ala pours on me daily. I was in a state of Wudhu but I had no Musallah (prayer mat), and the concrete floor was painted. Is it permissible to perform Salaah on a painted concrete floor?

Answer:-

If the concrete floor was clean and there was no visible sign of impurity on it, then there is no harm in performing Salaah on the floor. However, we advise that a cloth, or jacket, or plain piece of cardboard etc. is placed on the floor and then Salaah is performed on it, since cleaners are not aware or conscious of matters pertaining to impurities. We should, therefore, always exercise extra caution in matters of Ibaadaat.
