Sa’ee Without Ihraam

QUESTION:

I performed Ifrad Hajj and on the 10th, I did the Rami and then shaved my hair and took off my Ihraam towels and used Itr etc. After that, I did my Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat and then did Sa’ee. I perfromed the Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat and Sa’ee in normal clothes because I had taken off my Ihraam. It has come to my attention that it is not permissible to do Sa’ee without Ihraam towels. Is this correct?

ANSWER:

In the queried scenario, your Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat and Sa’ee without Ihraam was valid. If Sa’ee is performed before performing Wuqoof of Arafah, then one is required to be in a state of Ihraam. However, if one makes Sa’ee after Wuqoof of Arafah, then being in a state of Ihraam is not a requirement. [Muallimul Hujjaj Pg.152]
