Suffering from depression

Feb 12, 2022 | Family Matters

Question:-

Can Maulana please advise me? I am not well and doctors aren’t able to figure out what’s wrong with me. I make Dua that Allah Ta’ala restores my health.

I, however,  think that I might be expecting, but my health is so bad that I feel overwhelmed and depressed. I really don’t know what to do.

I have terrible, awful thoughts and my Imaan is weak. I fear that I don’t know what I will do to myself if I am pregnant. I know everything is Allah’s Will and Plan, but I have never ever suffered from anxiety before.

Answer:-

May Allah Ta’ala grant you complete Shifa and restore your health. Always remember that, Allah Ta’ala will never put you through any difficulty or hardship that you cannot bear. He is Most Kind and in fact, loves us more than our mothers, hence, He will always do whatever is best for us. We should, therefore, be pleased with the decision of Allah Ta’ala at all times. This position of Tafweedh (where one totally surrenders to the decision of Allah Ta’ala) is considered as a very high stage, to the extent that it is higher than the position of Ikhlaas (sincerity). Generally, sincerity is acquired towards the end of one’s life, after much sacrifice. Therefore, you shouldn’t worry about such matters which we have no control over. Rather, leave it totally in the Hands of Allah Ta’ala.

However, we will prescribe an Amal. Through carrying out this Amal, there is hope that all your matters will be resolved very soon Insha’Allah. You should recite ‘Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam’ 100 times, followed by 500 times ‘La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illah Billah’, and thereafter, recite 100 times ‘Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam’ again. You should try to carry out this Amal in seclusion (when you are not disturbed in any way) for a period of 40 days. All your matters will be resolved within this period Insha’Allah, with the help of Allah.

ALLAH TA’ALA KNOWS BEST!
