Question:-
1. What amount of discharge will break the Wudhu of a woman?
2. If a woman performs her Salaah and later (when the time of the next Salaah enters) notices that some discharge had emerged, what should she do?
Answer:-
1. We assume that you are aware of the different categories of discharge (which women generally encounter) and which ones necessitate Wudhu. The moment the minutest amount of discharge becomes apparent, Wudhu will become necessary.
وان غابت القطنة ثم اخرجها او خرجت هي بنفسها حال كونها رطبة انتقض وضوءه لخروج النجاسة بخلاف الدبر فان خروجه ينقض بان لم تكن عليه رطوبة (كبيري ص124)
2. We understand from your query that she wasn’t aware of when the discharge emitted. If one finds impurity on one’s clothing, but doesn’t know when it emerged, then the following ruling is applicable: If one finds semen on one’s clothing, but doesn’t know when it emitted, then the clothing will be considered as impure from the time of awakening in the morning; and if urine or stool is found, then it will be since relieving oneself; but if any other impurity is found (which includes vaginal discharge), then the clothing will be considered impure from the point of seeing it. [Re:- Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah Pg.306 Vol.8] Hence, in this instance, the previous Salaah will be valid.
