Valid reasons for separation

Question:-

Under what conditions would a woman be allowed to ask for a separation from her husband?

Answer:-

If both spouses have different temperaments and are unable to tolerate each other, or both parties possess such hatred for each other that is preventing them from upholding the laws of Allah Ta’ala, or the husband is unable to live with his wife in a kind manner as prescribed in Shariah, then both parties may separate from each other. These are some of the reasons due to which both spouses may temporarily separate until matters are resolved.  In such an instance, the senior and mature family members of both parties should intervene and try to resolve the matter in an amicable manner.

واما سببه فالحاجة الي الخلاص عند تباين الاخلاق وعروض البغضاء الموجبة عدم إقامة حدود الله تعالي —- (البحر الرائق ص236/237 ج3)

ولا باس به عند الحاجة للشقاق بعدم الوفاق بما يصلح للمهر (شامي 87 ج5 زكريا)

السنة اذا وقع بين الزوجين اختلاف ان يجتمع أهلها ليصلحوا بينهما فان لم يصطلحا جاز الطلاق والخلع (شامي 87 ج5 زكريا)
