Wearing A Headband In Ihraam
QUESTION:
Is it permissible to wear a headband (for men) during Ihraam?
ANSWER:
With regards to covering the head or face in the state of Ihraam, if one quarter or more of the head or face is covered for one day or night (12 hours) or more, then Damm (sacrificial penalty) becomes Waajib. If one quarter or more of the head or face is covered for less than one day or night (12 hours), the amount equivalent to Sadaqatul Fitr becomes Waajib. If less than one quarter of the head or face is covered for one day or night (12 hours) or more, the amount equivalent to Sadaqatul Fitr becomes Waajib.
As such, men should abstain from wearing a headband while in the state of Ihraam as it covers some portion of the head and face.
