Zuhr Adhaan during Zawaal time

Question:-

1. What is the ruling if Zuhr Adhaan is called during Zawaal time?

2. Is the time of Zawaal the full 5 minutes as advertised on the Salaah time tables?

Answer:- 

1. The Zuhr Adhaan should be called out after Zawaal, and not during Zawaal time, as the time of Zuhr sets in after Zawaal. If the Adhaan was called out before the time of Zuhr had set in, then the Adhaan should be repeated. [Re:- Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah Pg.141 Vol.9]

فيعاد اذان وقع بعضه قبل الوقت كالاقامة قوله وقع وكذا كله بالاولي قوله كالاقامة أي في انها تعاد اذا وقعت قبل الوقت (در مختار ص258 ج1)

2. Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah states that the time of Zawaal is not so lengthy that one is able to perform Salaah in the time. It lasts for a very short period, in fact, it doesn’t even last a minute. The time of Zawaal varies in different places based on their geographical locations. Hence, it is matter of caution that one refrains from performing Salaah a few minutes before Zawaal and a few minutes after Zawaal. [Re:- Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah Pg.45 Vol.9] In conclusion, the duration of Zawaal calculated to be five minutes, as recorded on the Masjid boards, is as a matter of caution.
