QUESTION:
I’ve read that one shouldn’t send Quran messages over the phone. What are the rulings regarding having the Quran on one’s phone?
ANSWER:
Adab dictates that the Quraan Sharif should not be stored on the phone as there are so much of other impure content that is stored and even viewed on the phone. The words of Allah Ta’ala should be afforded the highest degree of honour and respect. Also, one enters the bathroom with the phone, keeps the phone on the floor, etc. which are considered as acts of disrespect to the Quraan Sharif. Yes, we do not dispute that the App is closed and only opened at the time of Tilaawat, but Taqwa demands that the Sha’aair (symbols) of Allah are revered to the highest degree at all times, thus it is best that the Quraan Sharif is removed from the phone.
ALLAH TA’ALA ALONE IN HIS INFINITE KNOWLEDGE KNOWS BEST!
