Reciting Quraan for the Deceased

Q1. Is there a Hadith to support the practice of reciting Quraan on behalf of the deceased?

A1. It is established from the Hadith that one can recite Quraan for the deceased. 

عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:  اقْرَءُوهَا عَلَى مَوْتَاكُمْ – يَعْنِي سُورَةَ يس

(السنن الصغير للبيهقي)

Q2. Is there any proof to substantiate reciting Quraan or Surah Yaaseen every Thursday?

A2. There isn’t any Hadith or narrations which mention about reciting Quraan or Surah Yaseen every Thursday.
