Satisfying one’s spouse

Question:-

I have heard many a times that if a wife doesn’t fulfill the needs of her husband then she is cursed by the angels. I want to know, what happens when a wife has desires and needs but the husband doesn’t respond to her desires?

Answer:-

Allah Ta’ala has instilled passionate instincts in every man and woman. Allah has also prescribed the means by which man can fulfil these instincts, which is Nikah. One of the objectives of Nikah is to satisfy these instinctive passions in both men and women. The husband should therefore do his best to satisfy his wife and she should do the same, so that none of them have to resort to illicit means of sexual gratification.

Many women complain to the Ulama and Muftis that their husbands do not love them and have no feelings for them. They lament about how their husbands meticulously carry out the orders of their parents without any consideration for her feelings. These husbands have no time for their children and continuously scold their wives. The best solution for this situation is that the wife should use whatever means of beautification she has at her disposal to ensure that she remains attractive. She should be grateful for the natural beauty that Allah has given her and do her best to captivate the husband’s attention. When this is achieved, all her worries will disappear Insha’Allah. She will then have her husband eating out of her hands and he will even ignore her major faults. He will then do nothing against her wishes and no other women will appeal to him irrespective of her beauty and charm.

In conclusion, our advise to you is to adorn yourself for your husband (within the confines of Shariah in the home) and thereby attain his love and affection. If this is achieved, then we hope that he will willingly fulfill your needs and desires. Also, you should perform two Rakaats of Salaah daily and make Dua to Almighty Allah to incline his heart towards you and no other Ghair Mahram woman. Excessive recitation of ‘Ya-Wadudu’ is also beneficial.
