Putting up a banner with Duas in the front of the Masjid
Question:-
I have seen a banner in a Masjid in Gauteng and thought that it would be beneficial for Musallis.
I want to purchase them for our Masajid. A brother advised me that we are not allowed to place anything in front of the Musallees, as the Salaah will be invalidated if the Musalli reads the Dua during salaah.
Is this view correct, or can we place the banner in the front of the Masjid as a reminder to the Musallis to recite these Masnoon Duas after Salaah?
Answer:-
If a Musalli reads a poster or banner in his mind and understands the contents (whilst performing Salaah), then it will not invalidate his Salaah, irrespective of whether the poster contains verses of the Quraan Sharif or any other material. The Salaah will only be invalidated if the Musalli verbally articulates the writing that is before him.
However, the banners should not be placed in front of the Masjid as it will interfere with the concentration of the Musallis (whilst in Salaah), which is Makrooh.
